As the Investment Director of NBG PANGAEA Real Estate Investment Company (REIC), the leading real estate investment company in Greece, Athanasios Christopoulos actively manages and engages in the firm’s investments.
He possesses long standing experience in banking as well as in public administration. Previously, Athanasios served the Hellenic Republic for six years (2010 – 2016) as the General Secretary of the Ministry of Shipping. He managed and administered the Hellenic ports and policy, maritime investments, and the Hellenic Coast Guard. As a deputy General Manager at Credit Agricole Greece S.A. (2006 – 2009), Athanasios managed the group’s wholesale banking portfolios in the Balkans region. He also served as a member of the Senior Credit Committee and as a CEO of Credit Agricole Leasing S.A. He was also a member of the Board of Directors for Heuler Hermes S.A. one of the group’s subsidiaries. Lastly, he was assistant General Manager at Eurobank S.A. (1995 – 2006) in wholesale banking.
Athanasios earned his Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Business Administration from the University of the Athens, Greece and his Master of Science (MSc) in Human Resource Management and Training from Leicester University, United Kingdom.
