Mr. Christos Triantopoulos studied Economics (BA) at University of Crete and received his Master's degree in European and International Studies (MSc) from National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, while at Athens University of Economics and Business he received his PhD in Political Economy of Financial Systems and Supervision, preparing part of his doctoral studies, with a scholarship, at London School of Economics. He is a Researcher at the Center for Planning and Economic Research (KEPE). At the same time, he has been active in research at Athens University of Economics and Business, the University of Sussex as a visiting research fellow, and in other research bodies, while professionally, among other things, he held a consulting position at the General Accounting Office of the Ministry of Finance. Since 2016 he has been teaching economics, at postgraduate level, at the University of Thessaly and the ATEI of Peloponnese, while since 2017 he has been teaching fiscal policy at the National School of Public Administration and Local Government. He has published in books and scientific journals in Greece and abroad.
Since July 2019 Christos Triantopoulos has been appointed as a General Secretary for Economic Policy at the Ministry of Finance and as of 08 October 2020 he is a member of the Audit Committee of the European Investment Bank.
He is married and father of two children.
